A new Web site designed to feature the Episcopal Church's local, regional and international ministries around the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) will debut April 20, Earth Day, at www.globalgood.org.
The new site will emphasize the top mission priority set by the General Convention in 2006, which is to carry out peace and justice ministry framed by the MDGs. Adopted by the United Nations in 2000, the goals seek to reduce global poverty by half by the year 2015.
The eight goals include eradication of hunger and preventable illness, and achievement of environmental sustainability.
